             Understanding the inclusive education system

Developing an inclusive system implies a shift from seeing the child with a disability or
special educational needs as the problem to seeing the education system as something
that must be strengthened to better serve the child. It requires strong commitments

from local government, ministries, administrators, teachers, parents, and citizens
             (Hayes and Bulat 2017, 14).
As mentioned by Unicef (2017), inclusive education improves learning for all children –

both those with and without disabilities - it promotes understanding, reduces prejudice
and strengthens social integration and it ensures that children with disabilities are
equipped to work and contribute economically and socially to their communities (Unicef
             2017, 2).
